About

Hecate Press is a comics micro-press project started in Dawson City by Kimberly Edgar.

Our aim is to promote, celebrate, and create paid opportunities for comic artists residing in the remote, northern regions of so-called Canada. Through the medium of comics, we want to create connections, communities, and friendships that span the territories and that connect the circumpolar regions.

We are interested first and foremost in working with artists living in the circumpolar north of so-called "Canada". This includes places like the territories, Labrador/Nunatsiavut, Nunavik, and other remote northern communities.

For artists:

If you fit into the category of 'northern artist' in any way (i.e. born in the north and currently living elsewhere, born elsewhere but living in the north currently, member of a first nation whose land is in the north but you don't reside there, etc etc), please feel free to use the contact form to send us your work. We can't guarantee a response, but we're always interested in seeing northerner's work!

We do not pair artists up with illustrators. We usually work with artists who write and draw their own stories.
